They don’t get manlier than Ricardo Montalban.

"I could have killed you all, but I didn't. And that's what was great about me."

"I could have killed you all, but I didn't. And that's what was great about me."

“My love of Star Trek is well known… I’d give anything to have the chest at 35 that [Ricardo] Montalban had at 72.

I went to the premiere of the Star Trek 2 DVD and Montalban was there. And he was in a wheelchair, as he’s had some issues as he’s gotten older, and I was going, “oh, that’s so sad, he’s in a wheelchair” and then they gave him a microphone and he opened his mouth and was like, “Hello! I am Ricardo Montalban” and every one of us was like, “oh god!” Literally, in a wheelchair, this guy could kick anyone’s ass. He is the manliest man alive. They don’t get manlier than Ricardo Montalban. I think he’s manlier than anyone on any show I’ve ever been on…

He’s the manliest. Good lord — he could kill us all if he wanted to, but he hasn’t and that’s what’s so great about Ricardo Montalban.”

– PopGurls Interview: Javier Grillo-Marxuach

“Your genius cannot beat my evil and treachery. Oh, by the way, have you met my bodyguards, Evil and Treachery?”
Señor Senior Sr. on Kim Possible

RIP Ricardo, may all your fantasies come true…

PopGurls Update: PG-Porn’s James Gunn

James Gunn doesn’t want you to have to deal with all the ickyness of sex. On-screen, that is. The writer/director best known for his work in the horror genre (Slither, Dawn of the Dead) is taking on porn and making it more enjoyable for the whole family.

“You and your grandmother, for instance, could sit down together and enjoy some nice clean smut. Or your kids could come home from school, and the whole family could gather around the computer and not-jerk-off to some porn deeply embedded with traditional values (like not fucking.)” – PGPorn.tv

He talks with us about his wholesome new adventure with adult film stars Belladonna and Aria Giovanni, the perils of naked photo shoots and how Joss Whedon gave him his first job in Hollywood.

PopGurls Update: Supernatural’s Misha Collins

Misha Collins literally exploded on the scene as the Angel of Smokin’ Hotness in the Supernatural season four premiere. On a mission from God, Castiel yanked Dean up from Hell to do His bidding – and we are all too happy to go along for the ride.

It’s gonna be a line of a dialogue that stands out — I don’t think there’s any casual way to say “I’m the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition.” (laughs)

Not unless you were just sitting around, having a few beers at a bar.

Possibly. I’ll try to slip it into casual conversation. See how it goes. Let me make a note.

Misha talks to PopGurls about how he got past the FBI, why flying is overrated and if he prefers being touched or groped.

+ 90210 — Deja Vu All Over Again?
This is not a recap. This is not really a review. These are simply our reactions. Shame and sanity were left at the door.

+ A Quickie With Author Sara Zarr

PopGurls Interview: Enchanted’s Kevin Lima

Kevin Lima just might be the Zac Efron of the Disney set. If only all the 12-and-under girls knew more about him, he’d be pursued by excited fans, giddy about talking to the man who’s worked with several Disney Princesses. The latest princess being Enchanted’s Giselle [Amy Adams], who crashes into Times Square after being pushed into a magical well by an Evil Queen [Susan Sarandon]. It’s a very charming movie, a stunning showcase for Amy Adams who will certainly win fans of all ages.

Kevin talks to us about directing Enchanted (where he was also voiced Pip, the Squirrel, in New York), Disney Princesses and gives some advice for aspiring animators.

PopGurls Interview: Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick

Ed WestwickEd Westwick, it must be said, sounds absolutely nothing like he does on The CW’s Gossip Girl. Which is certainly not a bad thing, but it is a bit disarming once his deep British accent rumbles across the phone line. In fact it’s so disarming that I’ve now decided that it’s a good thing that he plays the role of Chuck Bass with an American accent because, honestly, it would be way too distracting and fans would be even more conflicted in their lust for Chuck — Gossip Girl’s undisputed bad boy.

Ed spoke with PopGurls about why he loves playing Chuck, who he thinks Chuck wants to sleep with and why comparisons with James Spader’s Stef in Pretty in Pink are a little off the mark.

PopGurls Update: Author Jessica Conant-Park

Can I just say that it took me a while to edit our interview with Jessica Conant-Park because there were so many delectable descriptions of food? Each one made me want to leave the computer and pre-heat the oven in preparation of tasty goodness.

Which, I suppose, is to be expected — Jessica and her mother write ChickLit mysteries about Chloe, a “food connoisseur on a quest for the perfect meal and man.” The Gourmet Girl books mix engaging characters, snarky fun and utterly delectable recipes.

A Quickie with Jessica Conant-Park

We’re giving away two copies each of Jessica and Susan Conant’s books, Steamed and Simmer Down. We’ll select four people at random who send an e-mail to freestuff@popgurls.com with the subject line GOURMET GIRL to get a free copy of one of the Gourmet Girl books.
